Can You Resend A LinkedIn Invite?

LinkedIn is a great platform for networking, especially for professionals, marketers, and entrepreneurs. Sending invites to other LinkedIn users is a core part of expanding your network. However, if you are not careful, your account can end up getting restricted by LinkedIn if you are marked as a spammer.

What many people don’t realize is that if the recipient of their invitation selects the “I don’t know this person” option, it is exactly the same as getting marked as spam. If you repeatedly get marked as a spammer, you may end up in “LinkedIn Jail”—which is another term for getting your account restricted by LinkedIn.

Personal Connections

With that in mind, it is important to note that you should only send invitations to people you know personally. This increases the chances of them accepting your invitation on LinkedIn.

If for any reason you are second-guessing the invites you have sent previously, you should cancel it and keep your account less cluttered. It is possible to withdraw an invitation you have sent, as long as the other person has not yet accepted it.

Just remember that if you cancel an invitation on LinkedIn, you would not be able to resend an invite to the same recipient for three weeks.

Retirando um Convite

Withdrawing an invitation is simple. You can easily view your sent invitations and withdraw any that are still waiting for a response from the recipient. If the recipient has not yet taken any action on the request, click on the My Network icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.

In the My Network page, you can filter, accept, or ignore any pending invitations displayed at the top of the page. Click Manage at the top of the page and choose the Sent tab. This page will only display invitations that are still waiting for a response.

For single invitations, click Withdraw to the right of each member’s invitations you want to cancel.

If you invited imported contacts, check the Contacts imported from your address book box and click Withdraw all.

Withdrawing an invitation will stop the recipient from receiving any further reminder emails to accept the invitation. The recipient will not be notified that you cancelled the invitation. Another thing to take note of is that withdrawing invitations does not return them to your balance of available invitations.

If the recipient has already accepted your invitation to connect, you may still remove the connection.

Canceling a LinkedIn Invite

Canceling LinkedIn invitations is sometimes necessary. Just take note that you will not be able to resend the invite to the same recipient for three weeks after you’ve canceled. Using LinkedIn properly can give your business or brand the boost that it needs in order to thrive.
